Grand Master Johnny K. Wu.

A veteran filmmaker with a MBA specializing in marketing has been involved in the media creation of visual and audio services since 1998 when he co-founded MDI (Media Design Imaging). Since then, he has helped small and medium business in developing focused visual media through promotion videos, commercials, corporate videos, while at the same time, creating his own short/feature films and documentaries that has continued to be shown worldwide at film festivals, online sites, colleges, national televisions, DVD distribution, and sci-fi or horror conventions

Johnny Wu, fluent in Spanish, Chinese and English, is the descendent of Swordmaster Wu Jizhe during the Chou Dynasty in China (about 2800 years ago).

The Wu family system is a close system passed its core martial art techniques from father to son since then and has been considered one of the oldest systems in China that is based mainly in combative fighting techniques without using forms.

Swordmaster Wu Jizhe was a known prince that had cooperated with Sun Zhu (Sun Woo) in help write the book The Art of War, which is now highly used for martial art and businesses or in general.

Johnny Wu was the last in the Wu family that is still promoting his family style. With cousins and relatives still in China, Wu is the first expanding the family style into the center of Western culture.

Johnny with a MBA specializing in business marketing is also a business consultant and independent filmmaker who had done a few commercials, one documentary and a feature film. He’s been heavily involved in the entertainment community and had helped many others to succeed.

Johnny has been involved with the Wu Family style since the age of 3 and has been actively involved in the Chinese and the martial arts community. Some of the things he’d accomplished including:

-     Founded Han Wei Magazine (a Chinese-English magazine published in 1995 for 2 years)

-     Published for the Han Wei Wushu newsletter, a free newsletter about martial arts (primarily Chinese styles) that has a wide distribution through Internet.

-     Organized the Han Wei National Martial Arts Tournaments (since 1995), the first in Midwest offering no hold full contact San Da sparring with limited protective gears.

-     Offered seminars at Universities in Chinese martial arts and qigong

-     Recipient of the Community Service Award in 2000 from the Cleveland Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League.

-     Inductee to the International Karate and Kickboxing Hall of Fame

-     US Promoter and Director of Great Lakes Region for the United Kungfu Federation of North America

-     Member of the United States Kuoshu Federation

-     Inductee to the World of Head Family Sokeship Council, special member as the youngest member ever inducted. Also, recipient of Silver Life Achievement Award from this organization. (www.bushido.org/~whfsc)

-     Board member and newly elected current President (serving 2004 & 2005) for the Organization of Chinese Americans of Greater Cleveland, and was a recipient of the 2000 Distinguish Service Award. www.ocagc.org
